HILLS is a side project from the Breathe Carolina duo that focuses exclusively on house music. Breathe Carolina gained widespread recognition in the early 2010s, particularly with their 2011 breakthrough hit"Blackout." Their early music was a fusion of emo and electronic elements. However, as the EDM landscape evolved and competition intensified in the mid-2010s, it became increasingly challenging for artists to break through and maintain consistent visibility.
Recognizing the growing popularity of house music, the duo saw an opportunity to pivot and establish HILLS as a standalone brand—one that could carve out its own space in the genre without relying on their past identity.
Launch and grow the Hills brand on Instagram
We crafted a three-month growth plan to establish HILLS’ unique identity and drive engagement. This included:
1. Distinct branding to differentiate from Breathe Carolina.
2. A mix of organic and paid strategies for maximum reach.
3. Proven Meta best practices, leveraging four years at Meta and four active certifications.
We aligned content with HILLS’ biweekly remix releases, focusing on:
1. Hashtag and Instagram SEO for discoverability.
2. Content tied to trending moments (e.g., Olympics).
3. Reusable creative templates for consistency.
4. Multi-format content (reels, carousels, stories, broadcast channel).
By the end of the 3 months after the brand launch, we a repeatable and scalable content strategy that allows HILLS to maintain a strong presence on Instagram with minimal time investment, ensuring their primary focus remains on music creation. Results include:
1. HILLS Instagram following grew from 423 to 44,000 followers
2. $0.04 per Instagram profile visit for traffic ads ran
